The column of ticks, headed ‘L’, indicates whether a product is Live. You should set the
Live box so that products are output to the count sheet. It will ensure that the order of products on
the count sheet matches precisely
the order of the products on this screen. Entry of closing stocks will then be quick and
reliable.
By default, the Stocks window opens displaying only the live products. To show all products,
click on the Press to Display All button.
Irrespective of the tick status, a product's stock levels will always be calculated and
included in the stock result.
To change the live status of a product, click on the box with the mouse and this will toggle the tick. If you want to change a lot of products at the same time, click the box for the first product, press the down arrow key and then you can use 'Y' to set the tick and 'N' to unset the tick.
The Across/Down after Enter button makes for easy use of a numeric keypad. Whilst you can use the down-arrow key to move down to the next product, it is often easier to press Enter. By default, it will move down to the next product as this is typically what you will want to do whilst entering the closing stocks.
If you want to change it, click on the button to change the mode.
All stock values are shown in decimal, e.g. Famous Grouse (70cl) has an opening stock of 1.5 bottles.
For those products which are measured in dozens, the number shown is a decimal of a dozen, e.g. Metz
has an opening stock of 2 dozen and 4 bottles (2.33 dozen).
When you enter new stock values, move to the relevant box and type in the number. All values are shown to
two decimal places but you need only type as many as are necessary, e.g. type 2 and 2.00 will be shown.
If you are entering data for a dozens-type product, you do not need to worry about the exact decimal conversion. A new window will be displayed which allows you to type in the number of dozens (items) followed by the number of bottles(units) and the decimal number of dozens will be calculated automatically.
For example, you should type 6, then Enter, then 5, then Enter to achieve the example shown on the right. Alternatively, you can simply type 6.5 to achieve the same result. If the quantity is less than a dozen, e.g. 4 bottles, you can type either "0.4" or simply ".4"
The sort lists and buttons at the bottom of the window operate in exactly the same way as described on the Products screen.
Click on the Close button to return to Operations.
