Click on Link to StockMate
A separate program will run which controls the transfer of data files to/from the Psion computer. It will also,
when necessary copy the stock counting program to the Psion.
The first time you run the program, a connection between the PC and the Psion will be
made. While this is happening, you will see a graphical representation of the connection being forged. Next time
the link is run, the connection may still be available and this will not be seen.

The line of information near the top of the screen shows the outlet number and the outlet name. On the
right hand side, you will see either 'RAM Pack' or 'Internal Memory' which indicates what memory configuration
the Psion has.
Use Send Product Files to transfer the prepared data to StockMate. Then, when you have done all of the counting,
connect back up and use Retrieve Quantity Files to transfer the count back to the laptop.
During the transfer of files, messages will be displayed on the screen indicating the progress that
has been made. A final message will be shown to tell you that the transfer is complete, e.g.
All files sent to StockMate.
If the Psion has been out of use for a while and you took the batteries out, you will need to re-program it. Click
on the Download Programs button and this will happen automatically.
StockMate can use an internal RAM Pack for additional security (in case of battery failure). After a time, the
RAM Pack will become full of data and will need to be cleared out. You
can either reformat the RAM Pack or you can use the Tidy Client Data button.
StockMate can be authorised for multi-outlet use, i.e. you can send data for a number of outlets, count them
all and then send all the data back. To run StockMate in this manner you have to have a RAM Pack memory module
installed. You also have to tick the relevant settings on the Options screen.
